5 months!

Weight: 15lb 4oz (~51st percentile)

Size Clothing: Wearing 6 month sleepers still although some are fitting perfectly right now so i know we're onto 9 months soon. As far as regular clothes she still wears 3-6 month. Some pants are still too big for her because her legs are short!

Milestones: Rolling over from back to belly pretty consistently now. Because of this she's started sleeping on her side now. I hope she doesn't roll over by mistake in the middle of the night though and need me to turn her over! <ETA: she JUST did it as I was writing this post!! gosh. she fussed for a couple min then seems to have fallen asleep on her belly. Hope its that easy> She's also sitting by herself better and can do it for longer periods of time as long as she's in the right position. She's also alot better at grabbing objects and putting them in her mouth. She plays with her toys alot more now, especially the ring links.

Schedule: We kept the same schedule up until this week. I'm trying to drop a bottle feed and increase the amount in the bottle. Partly because her last two bottles were too close to each other (5 and 7) where she wouldn't eat her last bottle. So the last couple days we've been doing 4 bottles at 7, 11, 3, and 7 ish and so far so good! she eats each bottle and i don't have to fight her to keep drinking. i'm hoping it helps that fussy period from 5-7 but we'll see...

Sleep: Her beautiful night sleep was disrupted for a couple days this month cause of a virus she got. Diarrhea city = diaper rash. I think it was the rash that woke her up and she needed to be changed. She went back down fine but after just a couple days of that mama was soooo tired. not as easy when they're not a newborn anymore. she got back on track a couple days later but that was not a fun week. Now she's starting to wake up a bit earlier than before (7am instead of 730am) i think because we've been putting her to sleep earlier. but i think this is better because girl is FUSSY at night. so i know she wants to go to bed earlier.

Her favorite things: she loves those ring links that hang. she's always tugging at them. she also loves when people talk to her. she's starting to smile alot at strangers (well strangers to her... our friends tho). she has no hesitation in giving someone a big gummy grin if they're smiling at her. she does get alittle shy and rubs her head in our shoulder but then she'll look back at them and smile again. she loves being in the sitting position and looking around. no longer are the days where she can just lie in the boppy for long periods of time. girl needs to see everything!

4 months!

Weight: 14lb 2.2oz (51st percentile)

Height: 23in (5th percentile) the doctor commented on this but said she wasn't concerned. she said now that her weight is good she'll start growing lengthwise more. i feel like shes getting alot taller tho bc her 6 month sleepers are starting to fit!

Head Circumference: 42cm (88 percentile!!) big heads totally run in the family

Size Clothing: Switched to 6 month sleepers. She wears 3-6 month clothing. The sleeves are alittle too long. For pants she still fits in 0-3 and 3 month sizes since her legs are so short!

Milestones: I feel like she had a big mental growth spurt the last week of this month. Starting last weekend she started holding toys (or my hair!!) in her hands and putting the toys in her mouth. She also started laughing! Daddy makes her laugh the most! She's also starting to find her tongue, she's sticking it out all the time now.

Bathtime Fun!

She's rolled over from tummy to back 4 times now. She doesn't seem interested in going the other way though as when she's on her back she doesn't move much. Her head is a lot less wobbly now and doesn't fall all of a sudden anymore.

Schedule: Our schedule is the same as 2 month except she naps a tiny bit less. She started this witching hour the last month and at about 6pm she cries/fusses for an hour. The only way to avoid this is to go out of the house shopping (girl loves target!) or to  get her to catnap, which has been hard these days!

Sleep: Her night sleep hasn't changed. She's still sleeping through the night for about 11-12 hours. On days at home she naps about 5-6 hours. She did start daycare two weeks ago. Her naps are of course worse there but she still sleeps relatively well which is all i can hope for. She sleeps about 3-4 hours in about 4 naps. Not the best but I think thats the best I can expect.

Her favorite things: She loves the winkel, i think because its easy to hold. She does NOT like her pacifier anymore. She always pushes it out with her tongue. I guess the days of instant silence are gone (haha that sounds terrible, but I hope you know what I mean). We got her the rainforest jumperoo and I think she likes it. She likes being in the upright position and she looks really comfortable in there. But she doesn't play with any of the toys. She'll look at the lights but thats about it. She's starting to love bathtime more. It's easy to get her to smile in there and she's always kicking her legs. She likes being held in a sitting position now versus laying in our arms. She'll fuss until we put her upright. She mostly loves the voices we make at her, that makes her smile and laugh!

Tummy time!

Love her gummy smile

3 months!

Weight: ~12lb 4oz (35th percentile)

Size Clothing: Fitting into 3 month perfectly and may even be alittle to small length wise. Started packing up her 3 month and 0-3 month clothing, we're moving on to 6 month and 3-6 month clothing! right now the new 6 month sleepers are soooo big on her! i'll be sad the day that she fits perfectly into them.

Milestones: She smiles regularly now! It's pretty easy to make her smile after she eats. It probably started to happen regularly around the 11-12 week mark. She can lift her head pretty high now during tummy time altho she gets sick of it after only a couple minutes.

Love her Elvis face

She also rolled over from tummy to back once! I think its because her big head propelled her over but it still counts right?? She's been getting better at sitting up. Her head still slouches over once in awhile but shes getting there. Her head is alot less wobbly too altho i do get the occasional head drop on my face. She loves looking around and is alot more alert. She follows people as they move around. She also started sucking her thumb! its the cutest thing even tho i know it'll be a hard habit to break someday. but for right now its soooo freaking cute!

Schedule: Our schedule is still pretty much the same as 2 month. We wake up around 7-7:30, drink our morning coffee (well me at least) walk the dogs, go down for our first nap at 8:30-10:30 ish, eat, play, 2nd nap around 12-2pm, eat, play, and go down for the 3rd nap around 3-5pm. Then i try to keep her around the living room area so she doesn't nap too much more and we play or i just let her catnap. then we start bathtime at 7:45ish and then she eats and goes to bed at 8:30ish.

Sleep: Her night sleep is still fantastic. She sleeps 10-11 hours a night. Hasn't regressed since she started sleeping through the night. We did decide to swaddle wean. Mostly because I didn't want the daycare to have to swaddle her and she's been sleeping so well I thought she was ready. Her naps were a disaster the first day. She slept the first half of her nap like normal but woke up and didn't know what to do. That first nap she cried 45 min on and off. The second was only 10 min. The next two days was okay but still more crying than when she was swaddled. Luckily and thankfully her night sleep was not affected at all from the swaddle weaning! I guess she values her night sleep as much as mama! She started finding her hand and her thumb to soothe when she wakes up from the first half of her nap so i think shes still trying to figure out self soothing but is getting better!

Her favorite things: She loves sitting up now and looking around at everything. She could sit in the bumbo for a lot longer but I'm always paranoid about seeing her floppy head in there so i don't leave her in there for too long. Shes starting to look at toys more but still won't reach out for them. She likes listening to the music in the baby einstein toys. She still likes people talking to her the most though, that makes her smile big!

Life at 2.5 months

Our days are pretty much the same as Evelyn and I have gotten into the grove of things. Here's what our day looks like at 2.5 months

7am - Wake up! Usually E is already stirring at this time, especially after Daddy picks her up to say bye as he leaves for work! Then I give her 5oz of milk and pump at the same time

7:30am - Once E's done eating and changed, we go downstairs so Mommy can drink some coffee! E just hangs out in her Boppy either looking around or playing with her monkey paci

8:15am - We get ready to walk our doggies. Most days we use the stroller but recently I've been using the Bjorn more.

8:45am - Usually get back from our walk and I start to put E down for her first nap. Our nap "routine" usually involves me swaddling, then letting her suck on her paci for a couple minutes until she's kind of zoned out, then I put her in her crib and she for the most part usually falls asleep.

9am-10:30am - nap! If we run errands we usually run them during this nap or the next.

10:30am - 2nd bottle of 5 oz. I usually try to pump before so that I can just hold her while shes drinking. <pumping is annoying>

11am-12pm - I *try* to play with her although she doesn't seem interested in toys that much. I try to do some tummy time too.

12pm-2pm - Nap!

2pm - 3rd bottle of 5 oz.

2:30-3pm - Play time!

3pm-5pm - Nap time (for Mommy too sometimes!)

5pm - dinner bottle of 5 oz. Then I keep her downstairs since Daddy comes home around this time and so she doesn't nap too long before bedtime.

5:30pm-8pm - catnaps, tummy time, and play time!

8pm - Bath time! I just do this out of routine but she does drool and spit up more these days.

815pm - Last bottle of the night, usually 6oz. It takes her forever to drink this bottle cause I think she's tired.

8:45-9pm - Usually done with bottle and burping and I put her down to sleep without a peep!

catnapping in her boppy!

I'm loving the 9-10 hours of sleep I get every night! I dread the day when it stops!

2 months!

Weight: 10lb 13.6oz (29th percentile)

Height: 21 3/4'' (12th percentile)

Head Circumference: 39.4cm (76 percentile)

Size Clothing: Grew out of NB sizes around 7 weeks, onto 3 month and 0-3 month clothing! She's starting to fit perfectly in some of her 3 month jammies tho! so sad!

Milestones: She's starting to smile more although still only a couple times a day. Maybe we have a very serious baby?? can't wait till she starts smiling more! she can hold her head up pretty high these on her boppy and on our shoulders. from the floor she can raise her head about 45degrees.

Schedule: We're sleeping through the night! She's averageing about 8-10 hours a night. Our morning usually starts around 6:30am, then she eats 5oz every 3-3.5 hrs with her last bottle around 815. and then shes in bed  around 8:45pm.

Sleep: She's been a great sleeper! Esp at night time. It's rare that she'll cry when we put her down in her crib. At night she's already passed out by the time I put her in the crib. Naps have gotten better. She takes 2-3 2+ hr naps and 1-2 cat naps. i love that i can take a long nap when she does too. but it doesn't leave alot of awake time! i feel like shes only awake a couple hours a day! going down for naps are so-so. she cries half the time but usually falls asleep in less than 10 min.

Her favorite things: Her pacis are still her favorite things. She's starting to love looking in the mirror at herself!  girl loves target too. always such a good girl there. even when wide awake. shes lovin bath time too! she loves kickin her legs in the water.

love how peaceful she looks when she sleeps
