My baby is 1!!!

I didn't realize i haven't updated this blog in 3 months!! My poor 2nd child. I love him so much but life is just so busy. Here's our one year update!

Weight: 21lb 11oz (55%)

Height: 2ft 5in (16%)

Head Circumference: 46.25cm (53%)

Size Clothing: Hes in 12-18 month clothes and size 4 shoes! 

Milestones: He started regular crawling around 11 months old! He has been cruising for a couple months now and finally a week ago he started letting go and standing on his own! I predict he won't be walking for another month or so, earlier than Evie tho (15months for her!). He is signing "More" and "All done". He might be saying more and mama too but i'm not 100% sure. He loves to point at his favorite characters (elmo!) and claps at himself after he points. He loves when people are singing and will dance right away. He's eating like a champ. I'm pretty sure he eats more than Evelyn at this point. Hes catching up to her in weight!

Schedule: 7am- wakeup, milk, 8am- breakfast  nap 9-11am, 11:30am-lunch , nap 2-330pm, 330pm-snack, 530pm-dinner, 730pm-some milk! 

Sleep:  He sleeps about 730pm-7am. his naps are about 9-11am and 2-330 ish at home. at daycare he naps from around 12-130!

9 months!

ahh sorry micah man! i missed last months post :-( we were in the middle of moving from one house to another and i didn't have time to write a post. :-( 

Waiting for some mexican food!

Size Clothing: Hes in mostly 12 month and 6-12 month clothing! i need to get him new clothes though because pants are getting too small! :-(

Milestones: He's army crawling FAST! and he's fearless so he will climb around on anything and everything. he's eating finger foods and drinking from a straw pretty well. he can stand a little bit but can't pull up himself. he is babbling like crazy and loves smiling and laughing at people. he has 6 teeth (4 came up at once!!) and still drooly so maybe more??

Schedule: 7am- bottle, 8am- waffle/eggs/sausage/cereal, nap 9-11am, 11am-bottle, 12pm-whatever we're eating!, nap 2-330pm, 330pm-bottle, 530pm-whatever we're eating!, 730pm-bottle! 


Sleep:  He still sleeps about 8pm-7am. his naps are about 9-11am and 2-330 ish at home. at daycare we're lucky if we get an hour!

Wishes he could have some too.. 

His favorite things: playing with big sis! being around people, eating everything he can (including dog food and things he shouldn't be eating), crawling and exploring, wagon rides!

7 months!

Weight: 

Size Clothing: Hes in mostly 9 month and 12 month clothing although he is still wearing some 6 month pants! He's a big boy!

Milestones: He's getting good at sitting by himself. He could sit by himself for a long time but usually he'll get bored and want to get down after a couple minutes. Hes not crawling yet but he was scooting backwards for a little bit. He is super active though for a boy who can't crawl! He won't stay still! He's eating solids pretty well. He loves purees and puffs. I tried chunkier foods this week but he gagged alot. Still not ready for that. He also loves mum mum's! He also got his two bottom teeth this month! Wasn't too cranky which is diff from when evie first got teeth!

Schedule: Its about the same as last month. 7am- bottle, 8am- 3.5oz puree, nap 9-11am, 11am-bottle, 12pm-3.5oz puree, nap 1-3pm, 3pm-bottle, 5pm-3.5oz solids, 730pm-bottle! 

Sleep:  He still sleeps about 8pm-7am. his naps are pretty good these days. 2-2hr naps and sometimes a small catnap around 5 or 6. I think he'll be dropping the third nap really soon! 

His favorite things: Sitting up and grabbing toys, or anything in front of him (including evie's hair/feet/clothes/etc!), He loves watching daddy play guitar and watches his big sister play. He also loves her princess castle that plays music! hehe anything that moves or plays music he loves!

6 months!!!

Weight: 17lb 15oz (58 percentile)

Height: 25.5in (10 percentile)

Size Clothing: Anywhere between 6-12 month clothing! He's outgrown Carters 9m sleepers (no more sleep n plays! :-( He still fits in onesies and shirts that are anywhere between 6m and 12m. His pants size are also between 6m and 9m. Sad the sleeper days are over because he was living in them during our winter! 

Milestones: Rolling all over the place!! Can't keep this one still. He loves rolling around and especially loves rolling under beds! He is trying to crawl and can lift his stomach alittle bit but otherwise he's just flailing his arms and legs trying to crawl. He can sit up for a couple min on his own and can rebalance himself better. He's doing alot of shrieking and squealing these days. 

Schedule: He wakes up 7am and takes a 7oz bottle, naps around 9-11am, takes a 6oz bottle, naps around 1-3pm, takes a 6oz bottle, and then may or may not nap again after that. He has his night bottle around 730 pm and then goes to sleep after. We've been trying to eat solids at 8am, 12pm, and 5pm. but it depends on how crazy the day is. He is an eating machine tho! Evie wouldn't eat purees very well but this guy can eat 2.5oz container of food in a couple min! 

Sleep:  He still sleeps about 8pm-7am. his naps have gotten better. usually 1-2 good naps (1.5-2hrs) and 1-2 cat naps (30min-1hr). he usualy only naps 2-3 times a day though. the naps are looking alot better tho! 

His favorite things: He loves being on his tummy while sleeping and playing. He loves looking around at other kids and at his sister! He loves his jumperoo and his paci still. He doesn't necessarily suck on his paci but he likes to chew on the little animal. He loves being held esp when hes fussy. He loves food!

Had a couple dr appt to check on his heart after a chest XRAY. he is good though! 

5 months!

Weight:

Size Clothing: 9 month clothing still but he's starting to get too small for them! :-( sad to have outgrown carters sleep n plays so fast! now i have to find an alternative for the "cold" winter (only 50s-60s around here.. but still cold!)

Milestones: Rolls back to front and front to back now. I've found him on his tummy on multiple occassions in his crib. usually he'll just fall back asleep after rolling. it makes me nervous tho! He also has been playing with toys more, putting them in his mouth, intentionally moving stuff around on his jumperoo. he can put his paci back in his mouth if its in the right position and close to his mouth. he's sitting up more and can sit for a couple seconds before toppling over. thats why he looks so funny in the 5 month pic! i leaned him back because he kept trying to sit up on his own which would tip him over! ;-)

Schedule: Same schedule as last month. he takes a bath with big sister now so we can get him to bed by 8pm. we'll probably move feedings around next month when we start solids!! 

Poor boy was sick a couple days

Sleep:  He still sleeps about 8pm-7am. he has started waking up and just playing in his crib which is nice so i don't feel like i have to rush out of bed in the morning! naps are still funky. about 2-30-45 min cat naps and 1 1.5-2 hour nap every day.

His favorite things: Oops just noticed that the past 4 months this has been labeled HER favorite things. hah totally copied from evelyn. anyway, HIS favorite things are his jumperoo, people talking to him (always gives a big gummy grin), his pacis, sitting up, being carried.

4 months!

Weight: 14lb 9oz (37th percentile) last week

Height: 23 in (1st percentile!!) we had this remeasured so I think its actually a bit more. But he's a shorty like his sister was!

Size Clothing: 9 month clothing!! so fast! how is he growing so fast! good thing all the christmas apparel i got him was 9 month clothing!

Milestones: He's rolled a handful of times now from tummy to back. He can do about halfway from back to front. He's starting to suck his thumb when theres no paci around. He is comfortable in the jumperoo and is starting to try to play with the toys. He's a smiley and happy boy! 

Schedule: The schedule is about the same as last month but he sleeps earlier at about 8pm and then wakes up around 7am.

Sleep:  Naps are still hit or miss. Usually he does one good nap and 2 cat naps. but his night sleep has been great so it makes up for his funky naps! 

Her favorite things: Music, looking at toys, being upright and watching us or sister, his thumb, being held.  Not liking the paci or swing as much these days..

TWO

I can't believe my baby has just turned two years old! For some reason this seems like a bigger milestone than one, maybe because it means she's officially a little person instead of a baby. I feel like she's grown up so much in the past year. She wasn't even walking and barely takling on her first birthday. Now she's running (and jumping!) like crazy. She's saying alot of short sentences. I looked back at her one year update (I forget so much so easily these days) and at 1 year she was saying about 5 words. I'm not even sure how many shes knows now (probably in the 100s!).

Her personality is starting to show more and more. She definitely takes after me in that department. She is shy around new people, but if she knows you she can be super loud and crazy. She's very observant, she watches people alot and has to observe something for awhile before she'll jump into it. Definitely a cautious girl who doesn't take many risks (just like mama). If she wants something, she will let you know with her persistent asking, or whining and crying and will not stop until you give her a satisfactory ending. This might just be a toddler thing, but mama is just like that to this day so I wouldn't be surprised if thats just part of her personality. I think the picture above definitely depicts her personality the best.

Shes starting to show her independence where she doesn't want your help and wants to do it herself. For alot of things she knows exactly what she wants and how she wants it. Only mommy or daddy can give her certain things and if we flip it she lets us know she doesn't like it. So with this new found independence we are definitely in a tougher stage. She was an easy baby, not as easy toddler. Deep down tho she is still the little girl she was a year ago. She is sweet, cuddly, happy (most of the time..), and loves making people laugh. She loves her brother and loves talking to him and playing with him. She wants him on her bed every morning when we get her and she proceeds to pat him. He is starting to be more aware too and smiles when he sees her. <3

Her favorite things right now are her toy castle, books, youtube videos, and drawing. She is constantly asking us to draw pictures of some of her favorite things like Elmo, animals, Baa Baa, Alice, Daisy and baby. She loves her preschool and her teachers and friends. She is super happy when she gets there and is dropped off (sometimes doesn't even say bye!). 

She's a great eater and sleeper still. Her favorite foods are mac and cheese, beef, rice, noodles, pepperoni, and fruit, as well as candy and ice cream.. Veggies are a hit or miss. She currently sleeps from 730pm to 7am and then a 2-3 hour nap at around 12:30. She is our all star sleeper in our house and i am very grateful for that!
