Anatomy Scan

We went to our anatomy scan today! I am 18 weeks and 2 days. It's kind of on the earlier side for the scan but my doctor gave the okay to schedule it for 18 weeks! It was about an hour long, and the ultrasound tech went from head to toe looking for certain things. She also looked at the placenta, cervix, and ovaries to make sure everything looked good. I learned that I have an anterior placenta. She also said the placenta isn't too close to the cervix so that looks good. Off the record she said everything looked good with the baby. My doctor will confirm it though once she looks at it. She did ask if we have big heads, cause apparently the baby's head is alittle big!! haha and I do have a big head so I guess they get that from me. Everything else measured about the 50th percentile while the head was over the 50th percentile. The baby is also measuring 4 days ahead (11oz) which is fine with me because I'm hoping the baby comes out alittle earlier (although not too much earlier). We didn't find out the gender :-( Team green all the way even though its killing me! So we had to look away when she was looking at that area. So close but so far. Here are some pictures we got!

I have a feeling after seeing this scan that our baby is really mellow. The baby was moving its hands and legs and yawning but otherwise just laying there. And maybe thats why I haven't felt as many kicks or movement. I guess we'll see! Overall it was exciting to see the baby and I can't wait to meet the little guy or girl!
